Hello angels! This is a random post that I know will end up being all over the place but I needed a way to communicate with the people who read this blog. I have been wanting to publish a physical issue of this blog for a while now, because I am someone who has always been more attracted to tangible things I can read and mark up and love and keep under my pillow rather than just scroll through on a screen, although I am extremely lucky to have even just that platform.
I've found myself in a funk for months, constantly feeling as though my ideas were not good enough, and that I was not in a prime place to put out valuable content. I've been telling myself that I want to do this before this day, and this before I start senior year, yada yada yada, but I haven't brought myself to actually doing it. I felt like I didn't know how to go about doing this at all, but in reality... when do you ever know much about something before you take the risk, jump in and just do it? So here I am, doing it :')
The theme for the first issue is one that has been bouncing around in my head for almost a year now, and it is Reflections On Love. The question is, "What does love mean to you?". Like the collective I did a few months back, which you can get a better idea of here, it is as general and as specific as the contributor wants it to be. I am going to be releasing a little media kit/thought packet that will show the vibe of the whole project, and hopefully we can all go from there. Keep an eye out on this site, as well as sign up for our emails by scrolling down to the bottom of this page. I hate plugging, but I know that it is much easier for a lot of people to connect through Instagram, so follow us on ours @thescintillation. If you want the thought packet when it comes out, either dm @thescintillation, @jennatouhy, or, your best option, fill out this form and simply write that you're here for the media kit.
Whoever is reading this right now, please please please listen to me when I tell you that your ideas are worth hearing, seeing, sharing with the world. If you want to contribute to this, and are having second thoughts, this is your sign to stop doubting yourself and reach out. I wish I could stress how much value your art has not only to me, but to everyone in need of seeing exactly what you have to offer.
I am counting on you, and hope we can create something wonderful together!!<3 If you have any questions, I'd love to answer them, and you know where to find me.
With all my love, J
